The Iowa County Historical Society & Museum aims to promote interest in local history by displaying and preserving artifacts, photographs and documents that relate the history of Iowa County. The organization also concentrates on the genealogies of Iowa County families. The museum is open from May through September from 10am to 12pm and 1pm to 4pm. Private showings can be booked by appointment.
The Dodge Mining Camp Cabin was built in 1827 and showcases the changes in mining over the past 170 years. The cabin is open May 15 through September 15 on Wednesday through Friday from 1pm to 4pm.
Featuring a large selection of fossils, crystals, fossils, semi-precious and precious stones and a blacklight, the Museum of Minerals and Crystals is located four miles north of Dodgeville. Visitors also enjoy touring the 1845 lead mine and riding the 1931 zinc mine train above ground. The museum is open daily from May through October from 9am to 5pm.
